WHAT I READ | in 2018

Books are a uniquely portable magic

Stephen King

I love hearing about what other people are reading, and taking inspiration from. I am constantly adding to my ‘to-read’ list on Goodreads (add me!), and I wanted to share what I read over the course of 2018. My absolute favorites are bolded.

  1. On Writing – Stephen King
  2. The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck – Mark Manson
  3. Little Fires Everywhere – Celeste Ng
  4. Before the Fall – Noah Hawley
  5. Fight Club – Chuck Palahniuk
  6. South and West – Joan Didion
  7. M Train – Patti Smith
  8. Slaughterhouse-Five – Kurt Vonnegut
  9. Theft by Finding – David Sedaris
  10. The God of Small Things – Arundhati Roy
  11. The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test – Tom Wolfe
  12. Fun Home – Alison Bechdel
  13. The Dharma Bums – Jack Kerouac
  14. Calypso – David Sedaris
  15. IT – Stephen King
  16. Too Fat, Too Slutty, Too Loud: The Rise and Reign of the Unruly Woman – Anne Helen Petersen
  17. Memoirs of a Geisha – Arthur Golden
  18. Murder on the Orient Express – Agatha Christie
  19. Cats Cradle – Kurt Vonnegut
  20. The White Album – Joan Didion
  21. 1Q84 – Haruki Murakami
  22. Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas – Hunter S. Thompson

My goal for this year was to read 30 books this year, but I’m pretty satisfied with the 22 I did get through!

I hope you found a few books from this list to add to your own reading list! What books did you read and love this year? I’m always on the lookout for more.
