10 un-commandments to live by

un-commandments

Do Not Ever;

Let anyone tell you that your pain isn’t real or justified. Just because others cannot feel it doesn’t make it any less real.

Do Not Ever;

Let anyone make you feel like shrinking, when you were born to grow.

Do Not Ever;

Let someone tell you you are not beautiful. You have the whole sky built into you, freckles and scars forming constellations. You are made of stars: don’t waste time on people who don’t like astronomy.

Do Not Ever;

Let someone dictate what you do with your body. Your body houses your soul, let it reflect you. Decorate it how you want, how you need.

Do Not Ever;

Feel that having a mental illness is a weakness or makes you inferior. Own it, accept it, and ask for help. Trust in others to help you, and the load becomes much lighter.

Do Not Ever;

Give up on the things that set your soul on fire. Immerse yourself in your passions, despite anyone’s objections.

Do Not Ever;

Be afraid to take your own route. If you aren’t happy, change paths. If you want more options, create your own.Not everyones road is made of yellow brick. Use whatever color bricks you want.

Do Not Ever;

Let anyone tell you how to think. You were blessed with a big, beautiful brain to think with, to feel with and make sense of those visceral feelings, and to make your own opinions. Why memorize someone else’s ideas when you have the ability to create your own.

Do Not Ever;

Stop loving, supporting and believing in yourself. You are the best friend you’ll ever have,  and you deserve the world.

  1. These are great 10 un-commandments! I especially loved this one: “Do not ever: Let someone tell you you are not beautiful. You have the whole sky built into you, freckles and scars forming constellations. You are made of stars: don’t waste time on people who don’t like astronomy.” xx
