I’ve been bad with my monthly updates lately, I know. I feel like the month of June was a whirlwind of blog posts and I kind of lost momentum and focus in July.
You may have noticed I’ve shifted my content lately. I am posting more about lifestyle now, and in general positive topics that I’m passionate about, while also mixing in some light posts about makeup and fashion. I’ve also started to use this blog as more of a platform to share my writing, as I’d been too afraid of before. So, if you’re still here, I applaud you and thank you.
Without further ado, here are my goals for the month of August:
Learn how to ‘Adult’
For the rest of the summer, I’m living by the beach. Alone.
For most people this may not be a big deal, but apparently I am not most people. For one thing, living by myself gets very lonely. I have taken to keeping the TV on so have background noise (that is probably the saddest thing I’ve ever shared I’m sorry). But the other mundane, adult-y tasks that my mom used to do have now fallen on me. Taking out the trash and cleaning the toilet have to be my least favorite.
My goal is not to sound like a pathetic complainer like you may think I am, but to learn how to do these tasks in a swift and easy manner. I also want to be able to touch gross wet food in the sink without wanted to cry or incinerate my hand (is that just me?).
Go to the gym 20 times this month
After surgery, I allowed myself to be pretty lax with my exercise. Well, the surgery recovery time is over and I’m still pretty lazy about my gym routine. I go a couple times a week, sporadically, but I don’t think thats cutting it. I want to aim to go 20 times this month, before I head back to college.
Wake up earlier
The plight of every returning college student is having to get up for 8:00 am classes after a summer of lounging in bed until noon. I am so guilty of this, so I feel that setting an alarm in the morning might help me get the ball rolling in the morning and be more productive.
I don’t know though, this one may be tough.
Make time for Yoga and Meditation
In order to have good physical health, we must also have good mental health, and vice versa. I have also been lax on my yoga and meditating, but I love it so I’m definitely going to try and get back into it.
