Following on from my part 1 of summer glow, the fake tan, I thought I would share a few of my favorite makeup products to help boost the glow and just scream ‘summer’!
Get glowing with plenty of bronzer, highlighter, and a healthy flush of blush. I love going all out in this routine during the summer months.
I like to keep the eyes pretty natural and understated, while the main focus is on the glow. I keep lips neutral, glossy and pouty.
Bronzer:
Murumuru Butter Bronzer – Physicians Formula
This is a great drugstore alternative to any high-end bronzer. I bought this, and the lighter one for cooler months, for around $15 from Ulta when it first came out and I loved it instantly. It smells like a beach vacation in a compact and the formulation is both soft and buttery, and very buildable and blendable. I also love that it’s cruelty free! This bronzer is perfect for a beautiful contour.
Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer – Too Faced I picked this gem up a couple of months ago after constantly being confused about which bronzer from Too Faced I wanted to buy (I have the bronzer book that I believe was limited edition last summer that had a tester size of all of their bronzers). This was my go to up until I picked up the Physicians Formula Bronzer, but I still use it very frequently. I like dusting this product on my cheeks and forehead to warm up my face, with a fluffy face brush. Because this is a lighter bronzer, it works very well for me because I tend to be quite fair.
Blush:
Dandelion – Benefit
I don’t know how long I’ve had this blush, but its been at least 2 years, and I just recently hit pan! I love this color, and it is my go to blush any time of the year. I’m not actually a big blush person, which I believe is why I love this colour so much. It adds a nice sheen of pink, and the finely milled shimmer gives it a highlighting effect. Although I love this product I wont be repurchasing it because I no longer buy from companies that are not cruelty free. I’ll be looking for a dupe soon, so if you have any cruelty free dupes, let me know!
Highlight:
Pressed Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop – Jaclyn Hill x BECCA Cosmetics
As I’ve probably said before, this is my all time favourite highlighter. I love everything about it, from the fact that it is so soft, and incredibly pigmented, to the fact that Jacyln helped create it! I’ve been an avid fan of Jaclyn Hill for many years now, and this product encompasses every reason why she is so amazing. Also, I don’t think I will ever run out of it! The smallest amount gives you a beautiful highlight that lasts all day.
Afterglow Highlighter in Sin – Urban Decay
This is a relatively new purchase, but so far I’m very impressed. I love that the shimmer isn’t chunky. The color is absolutely beautiful, it is a light, almost peachy color, but looks more frosty than champagne pop, although it is still described as a champagne. I use this on days where I’m not feeling like sporting a crazy strong highlight but still want to glow. I’ll use my trusty sigma highlighting brush to dust this on the high points of my face.
Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone – BECC
I’m pretty new to the liquid highlighter trend, but this product makes me question why I waited so long to try it. I love mixing about half a pump (a little goes a long way!) in with my foundation for everyday wear. It gives a luminosity to the foundation and makes you literally look like sun beams are bouncing off your perfect angel like skin. I’m not kidding. I also tried this on its own, applying a small amount to the tops of my cheekbones on a no makeup day, just for a little glow. It looks so natural and radiant either way and I can’t recommend it enough. Moonstone is a very light bronze, or ‘pale gold’ shade. I recently ordered the Champagne Pop version of this so I’ll share my thoughts on that when I receive it!
All these products together, or in some variation are my go-to’s for days when I want to look radiant and bronz-y and glowy!
