I’ve been back in school for about a month now, so everything has been insanely busy! I forgot what it was like to have to do assignments and actually have a good time management system. Please forgive me for going on a bit of a hiatus while I got settled in, I’ll be trying to post more regularly now.
I’ve complied a list of a few things which have been my lifesavers over the past few weeks while getting used to the hectic university schedule and workload:
I now attend a college that has real seasons and changes in weather, and soon winter will be upon us. The fall here, though just starting, has been pretty up and down. This lightweight denim jacket, which I got from a Red Cross thrift store a couple of months ago, cost only $10 (score!) and has been perfect for this temperamental weather. Its easy to throw on with any outfit, looks cute, and still provides another layer of warmth!
2. Cha Cha balm – Benefit
I am the type of person who cannot function if my lips are dry. I find it uncomfortable and so unpleasant I can’t focus on anything until I find a lip balm. This mini Cha Cha balm is so small and easy to carry around with me all day, and also its tinted to give you a bit of colour without having to wear lipstick to class! A very casual, easy alternative.
3. Naked 2 Palette – Urban Decay
This was the first eyeshadow palette I ever purchased, and I used to use it religiously (because it was the only one I had). I went through a phase of not touching it for a couple of months but I’ve finally started using it again and I’m so happy I did. I remember why it was my favourite palette for so long. I’ve been using the gold shade on my lid, and the black shade on my lash line for my everyday makeup look lately and loving the results. Plus, it only takes 5 minutes!
4. Dewy and Smooth Foundation – Maybelline
This product I picked up a few weeks ago from CVS and I love it! It gives the perfect finish to the skin and looks so natural. I would describe it as medium coverage and suitable for dry to normal skin. If your skin tends to get oily, like mine, the dewy-ness of the foundation will start to look very slick by the end of the day in bright lights, but that is to be expected. The colour match for my skin is perfect too! CVS had a wide range of colours available which was great, so theres a shade for everyone
4. Mascara- Elizabeth Arden
I picked up this mascara at a duty free store in the airport for $10 AUD and I love it. The product goes on so perfectly. It separates lashes and volumizes like nothing else, and still leaves you with super natural looking, fluttery eyelashes. Definitely a must have for me.
5. All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray – Urban Decay
Classic ‘oldie-but-a-goodie’. This has been a staple in my collection for quiet a while now, as you can probably tell from the ‘well-loved’ looking bottle. This has been a lifesaver in keeping my makeup on for 12 hour days during classes without annoying touchups. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to keep their makeup on for long periods of time.
