Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Review

I was so excited to get my hands on this product at Sephora last night! As it is a relatively new Too Faced product that I had never tried, I had to buy it.

I had help from the Sephora employee, who used the Color IQ system to try to match my colour. Unfortunately, this didn’t provide any recommendations for Born This Way shades because they run very neutral and even yellow toned, and my skin has a very pink undertone.

After testing about 3 different shades, the old fashioned way, we decide on the shade Vanilla.

The packaging of this foundation I find absolutely gorgeous. I like the matte, opaque kind of glass bottle, with the classic Too Faced insignia. The bottle is relatively weighty and feels like a good quality product. The foundation also has a pump, which I think is absolutely necessary for any foundation of any price.

I tried this product on today and so far I absolutely love it. It applied beautifully and smoothly. The texture is smooth and really does make skin looked airbrushed. The coverage is described as ‘medium to full’, which it definitely is. I find some medium-to-full foundations very hard to build without looking cake-y, but this one surprised me. I was able to apply a second layer in some of my more problem areas with without it looking cake-y or like I was wearing a mask.

The longevity of this product is still to be decided. Today was excruciatingly hot, but the foundation still managed to almost hang on through a busy day of sweating profusely.

This product will set you back about $40, including tax, which is quite pricey but so far I am loving it!
