Today, I was sitting on the couch watching a rousing episode of Man Vs Food (no judgement please) in my pyjamas while eating cereal when I looked at the clock and realised I had to be at an Optometrist appointment in 15 minutes … and it was a 10 minute drive away. Frantically I threw a few essentials into my purse and did some damage control on my face while my boyfriend drove me to the appointment. Here’s what I used to make it look like I didn’t completely forget that I was meant to be at this appointment!
#1 – Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in R.S.V.P
The ‘thrown together’ look is all about minimal products and tools, so a cream shadow is perfect because you can apply it with your finger – no brushes necessary! I love this shade – a pink, champagne-y colour which brightens up the eye and makes you look and feel very fresh, well rested and awake. The formula of this product is perfect because it doesn’t crease (hence, ‘Creaseless’) and doesn’t require and eyeshadow primer to last all day.
#2 – Benefit Roller Lash
I mentioned this product in my July favourites and the fact that its the first mascara I reached for in my mad dash to get out the door is a testament to how much I love it. My lashes look natural and voluminous without even trying.
#3 – MAC Prep + Prime highlighter in Bright Forecast
This product has been a staple in my makeup drawers for at least a year and it has saved my butt on numerous occasions (aka times I woke up late and looked like I’d been punched in the eyes). The formulation is super light and blendable, and colour corrects to eliminate under eye discolouration. A necessity for anyone who likes to repeatedly hit the snooze button.
#4 – Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hour Waterproof powder – shade 30 Sand
I’ve been using this product for so long I’m not even sure Maybelline still makes it anymore. Regardless, this is the perfect powder foundation for a super quick makeup look. I am usually a liquid foundation type of girl, but if I’m in a rush, a full coverage powder foundation is much quicker and easier. I just apply this all of the face and run out the door. Done.
#5 – Benefit’s Hervana Blush
I am obviously a fan of Benefit and I’m sorry that I keep going on and raving about their products. This blush is perfect to add an everyday light flush to the cheeks to warm up the face. Any light pink blush will do for this step!
